On July 20, EcoStim, a developer of biostimulants for agricultural crops and sports turf based in the UK, announced plans to expand to North America through a partnership with Excel Holdings, according to an announcement from EcoStim. The company says this new partnership will provide U.S. farmers with access to a range of biostimulants from their portfolio.
“While the biostimulants industry is still fairly new, international testing of EcoStim has been very promising. Supplementing agricultural products with EcoStim has improved taste, increased yields, and help farmers maximize profits without impacting the environment,” said Phil Gaffney, COO of EcoStim UK.
The release notes that EcoStim’s biosimulants were designed to enhance growth, metabolism and energy levels, which allows them to deal with environmental stresses — in international markets EcoStim has reduced the need for nitrogen-based fertilizers by as much as 40% while improving crop yields up to 30%.
During the initial launch in North America, EcoStim will begin with pilot projects in key markets around the country. The goal of the testing will be to localize application to crop output metrics for the full EcoStim Biostimulant Range, which is comprised of the following:
- EcoCereal – increases yield and quality of the plant, enhances the root mass and depth, and produces earlier cropping.
- EcoFruit – increase yield, enhance root mass and depth, earlier cropping, and produce sweeter fruits.
- EcoVeg – increase yield, enhance root mass and depth, earlier cropping, and produce larger vegetables.
- EcoFlower Рproduces larger flowers, more buds and shoots, more colorful flowers, and faster plant development.
- EcoTurf – improves the color of the grass, increases the rooting system, and helps the grass to be stronger from twisting and wear.
