POSITION SUMMARY:
Seed World Group is a global company with media properties around the world. In 2023, we launched Seed World LATAM — the newest in Seed World Group’s portfolio of seed industry publications — and its related digital platforms. We’re excited to see Seed World LATAM grow!
We are looking to hire a Co-Editor to help build Seed World LATAM’s reputation as the leading source of information for the Latin American seed industry. With direction from the Managing Editor, the Co-Editor will play a key role in directing and producing Seed World LATAM’s journalistic content.
YOU…
…are an excellent writer who understands farming: maybe you grew up on a farm; ideally you have specific experience in the seed sector; you definitely understand farmers’ priorities. You are constantly curious and willing to learn. You want a job where you can use your writing expertise in an independent and self-driven, but also team-oriented and supportive environment. You must prove professional-level fluency in English and either Spanish or Portuguese.

THE JOB:
Working with our editorial team, you’ll help position our brand as the go-to source of regional and global seed sector information and perspective in Latin America. In this job, you’ll:
- Build relationships throughout Latin America’s seed sector,
- Produce excellent journalistic content using an unbiased, engaging writing style,
- Develop and maintain understanding of the key issues that are relevant to the seed sector in the Latin America region,
- Help with content planning and editorial calendars,
- Be ON TIME EVERY TIME! Our deadlines are critical,
- Interview sources on a broad range of industry issues (you don’t have to be an expert but you do have to be genuinely curious and interested),
- Host podcasts, webinars, video interviews,
- Help grow our social media presence,
- Represent us at industry events, conferences and tradeshows as needed,
- Know and reliably use Canadian Press Style Guides, and
- Be willing to jump in on whatever else our team is tackling when needed.
