The 2024 academy will introduce an innovative blended learning approach.
Purdue University’s Center for Food and Agricultural Business recently announced a new blended learning format for its acclaimed Seed Management Academy, combining online pre-session materials with interactive in-person classes. This shift aims to enhance learning experiences and foster a deeper understanding of critical business management strategies in the seed industry.
“The seed industry has continually evolved, demanding a new breed of leaders equipped with advanced skills and insights. Today’s seed professionals face unprecedented challenges and opportunities,” says Aissa Good, managing director of Purdue University’s Center for Food and Agricultural Business. “The need for strategic management, market orientation, and supply chain optimization becomes critical. The Seed Management Academy provides a unique opportunity for professionals to build upon these areas, ensuring they stay ahead of industry trends and remain competitive.”
Attendees will participate in five key areas:
- Discussing the changing agribusiness environment and future implications for seed companies.
- Exploring marketing strategies and financial management tools.
- Understanding the five functional areas of business and how decisions can impact each area.
- Evaluating strategies for leveraging competitive advantage.
- Gaining leadership tools that add value to organizations and help employees achieve higher performance.
The academy will include two weeks of pre-recorded video sessions that participants may review at their convenience. These sessions will cover key concepts that will be explored further during the in-person segments. The live sessions will take place on Purdue University’s campus, offering hands-on activities and group discussions that simulate real-life scenarios, allowing participants to apply management principles practically.
