ASTA’s 2024 Student Connections Program, designed to inspire and connect a new generation of seed industry leaders, is now accepting applications from students. Applications are due by TOMORROW, March 15. Please share this opportunity with your student/university connections.
Student Connections is a program hosted by the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) and the Seed Science Foundation (SSF) through ASTA’s Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) Committee. The program is designed to provide students (undergrad through post doc) who might be interested in pursuing a career in the seed industry with networking and learning opportunities with seed industry mentors, executives, and thought leaders during the annual ASTA Leadership Summit
Program benefits:
- Each participating student will be invited to attend ASTA’s Leadership Summit (with financial assistance), which takes place in Nashville, TN June 15-19, 2024. Students will have the opportunity to participate in discussions and decision-making forums on some of the most important issues effecting U.S. and world seed trade.
- Each participating student will be matched with a seed company representative who will act as a mentor during the conference and a resource after the conference.
- Each participating student will have an opportunity to network with seed industry leaders throughout the conference.
- Some participating students may be invited to present a summary of their research project in a poster session (if applicable).
- Each participating student will be given ASTA student membership free of charge. Benefits of student membership include access to seed industry news, job and internship notifications, complimentary conference registration, and more.
The intention of the program is that participating students not only gain opportunities to engage in educational opportunities before and during the Leadership Summit, but that they leave the Summit strong collegiate ambassadors for the seed industry on their respective campuses.
The 2024 Student Connections application can be found here. The deadline to submit the application, resume and requested documents is Friday, March 15, 2024. Questions about the program can be directed to ASTA’s Kaitlin Crawford at kcrawford@betterseed.org.
