Barenbrug Develops Seed Enhancement Business2 weeks ago -
The Barenbrug Group is developing its seed enhancement business with the appointment of Andro Tjin to the newly created position of global seed enhancement technology manager as of September 2017. Tjin will focus on the development of new technologies. He will also be responsible for creating synergy between the different regional seed enhancement programs and plants to maximize output.
Tjin (44) studied plant breeding in Wageningen, the Netherlands, and completed his PhD in seed physiology in winter wheat at Harper Adams University College in England. He joins Barenbrug from Syngenta, where he worked as a senior scientist in their global seed enhancement group.
In addition to leading global research and development in grass and forage legume genetics, seed enhancement will further contribute to the focus on creating added value for customers worldwide. Seed enhancement will now become an integral part of the strategic approach of the Barenbrug Group.
